if i could add these to my baby registry, i would.

pedicures (see: me time) / confessions of a concealaholic (to combat tired eyes) / pretty dress (to hide post-baby weight) / Veev Acai liquor (hello summer cocktails) / go girl energy drinks (how I’ve missed you!) / yoga classes (to get rid of said post-baby weight)

I know, baby registries are for babies. I get it. Our little boy is going to be fully stocked with the latest and greatest clothes, toys, and gadgets. But don’t you think mommas deserve a little love too? Anyone? Bueller? If I could add these items to my baby registry without being judged, I most certainly would. Call me selfish, but I think baby registries should have a small “mommy” section too.

{ Please note: if you want to sneak a few go girl energy drinks into my diaper cake, I will kiss you. On the mouth. }

a citrus lane giveaway!

While trolling the internet working from home, sometimes I stumble across really good ideas. Ideas I wish I had thought of first. My latest discovery? Citrus Lane: handpicked care packages for parents (a Birchbox for mommies, if you will). I think it’s pretty brilliant. For $25 a month you receive 4-5 “best of” products that not only match your child’s age, but also fit a monthly theme. The products are handpicked by real parents and are valued at $30-45 (plus an extra treat, PLUS free shipping) so it’s quite the steal! With 3, 6, and 12 month gift packages, I don’t know what mommy wouldn’t love to get a box full of goodies once a month!

Aren’t these boxes adorable? I am a sucker for unique products and cute packaging. Also worth noting: Citrus Lane doesn’t accept paid placement, which means every product in every box has been reviewed by their advisory board and/or community. It’s basically like having your own personal shopper! My personal favorite is the Deluxe Shower Box, which even includes a $50 Minted gift card (!!!). This box retails at over $90 and is available for purchase at citruslane.com for only $35. Can we say PERFECT BABY SHOWER GIFT?

But wait, it gets better. The sweet folks over at Citrus Lane have graciously offered to give one lucky reader a Home for the Holidays box! This was the box that went out in the month of December and even includes a special Stella & Dot bracelet for mommy. Not a mommy? This would be a perfect belated holiday gift to give to a friend…

To enter: simply leave a comment with your favorite baby product suggestion for Citrus Lane to add to their boxes. It can be for any age or gender. I’ll pick a winner at random on December 28th. Good luck! If you don’t win the box but want to sign up for Citrus Lane or give a subscription as a gift, use promo code SAVE20 to get 20% off your 3, 6, or 12 month subscription, or off your first month’s order. With Christmas right around the corner, I can’t think of a better gift for the new mommy in your life :)

shop love: zara baby.

I love love LOVE Zara. It’s one of my favorite stores, even though I only shop there a couple times a year when I’m in SF or LA. I had never really noticed their baby section before, but now I am addicted to browsing their adorable outfits online. How cute would our little boy or girl look in one of these tiny ensembles?

I really need to get Ashlee Gadd Creative off the ground to support my baby fashion budget. Yikes.

treat yo self.

Maybe it’s because Halloween is around the corner. Or maybe it’s because I only have two more weeks of work left (!!!). Whatever it is, I’ve really been in the mood to treat myself lately. Saturday morning I spent four glorious hours on the couch catching up on all my favorite shows. And then, I ordered pizza. From the couch. Before starting a Friday Night Lights marathon.

That was my Saturday, folks. It was beautiful. And this week? I have plans to treat myself to a pedicure, a new lens, and too many pieces of Halloween candy.

So go….treat yo self. You can tell everyone Ashlee said it was okay.

{ p.s. Parks and Rec is arguably one of the best shows on television right now. If you’re not watching it, shame on you. }
