stitch swap: leave happy.

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Girl. Friends. It’s that time again. Time to drink go girls, sip wine, nom on cupcakes, pose for photos, and support a good cause.

That’s right. I am talking about the September Stitch Swap, brought to you by Liz, Shawni, and yours truly.

How it works: you bring previously loved clothing, shoes, jewels, and other accessories to swap with other fabulous women in your community. You can bring as much as you want, and leave with whatever you find! All leftover clothes will be donated to WEAVE, along with your $5 donation at the door.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get new clothes (without upsetting your wallet), clean out your closet, make new friends, and support a local cause.

See you there?

$20.00 peep-toes.

Confession: I am addicted to shoes.

What can I say?  Carrie Bradshaw is my fashion idol and I wish I could win the lottery for the sole (no pun intended) purpose of owning an entire closet of designer pumps.  *sigh*

imageUntil then, I shall continue to scour the continent for the best deals possible in hopes of maintaining a collection of acceptably stylish footwear that does not bring about financial hardship.

Enter: the Target shoe department.

I hardly ever venture to Target with the intention to buy shoes.  Today I was at Target to buy shampoo and milk.  But that’s the problem with Target, you see.  I go there for paper towels and birthday cards, yet cannot seem to tear my eyes off the $6.00 leggings and $20.00 peep-toe pumps.   When a shoe box enters my cart beside the Kashi cereal, I hardly even notice it anymore.  In fact, throw a bottle of hairspray and a new package of sponges on top of it, and the shoebox disappears altogether!

Well done Target, well done.  You proudly posted your impressive $20.00 limited time offer placard and I gave in to you yet once again.

Until next time….I suppose I’ll be donning these bad boys to work tomorrow.
