Breakfast is, without a doubt, my favorite meal of the day. In fact, breakfast even determined where we stayed in Santorini because I refused to stay at a place where breakfast wasn’t included in our rate. I take my breakfast very seriously, and it’s a total deal breaker. In Oia, we called Irene (the villa manager) every morning when we woke up and it went something like this:
Ring ring.
Irene (singing): Good mooooooooooooooooorning!
Me: Good morning!!!!! Can we have chocolate croissants and apple croissants and fruit and orange juice and coffee and toast with jam?
Irene (singing): Of cooooooourse you caaaaaaaaaaan! See you soooooooooooon!
10 minutes later, a feast was delivered to our room on pretty white and blue dishes. And let me tell you, THE CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS WERE THE BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. The kind where warm creamy chocolate oozes out all over the plate. The kind that shouldn’t even be allowed to be on the breakfast menu because they belong on the dessert menu. But, they were on the breakfast menu. At both hotels. So, why wouldn’t I eat chocolate for breakfast every single day? IN BED?! I mean, life doesn’t get much better than that.
So yeah, my toaster waffles have tasted like crap ever since. If anyone has a chocolate croissant recipe, please send immediately.

I think that should be pretty easy… the the puff pastry that you can buy in the freezer section. Buy chocolate chips. Combine and bake.

Chocolate every day is one of my rules. One of my “Life is too Short” rules. Also the reason I weigh 20lbs more than I did in high school… but it’s a good reason.
